Boom! We're done with the ultimate shop cabinet build. This ended up being a 5 MONTH process to get these over the finish line (due to travel, work, filming, etc) but man is it worth it! I still walk out into my shop and forget how nice it is. These cabinets turned out great and have a ridiculous amount of storage. I've only filled up about half of the drawers...so I guess that means I need to buy more tools! I hope you've enjoyed this build series and perhaps it even in
One step closer to shop cabinet greatness! In this video we prep the lower cabinets for the final installment including adding the face frame, painting the cabinet carcass, mounting in place, and installing the top work surface. This cabinet build is coming together GREAT and I cannot wait to share the final product. In the next and final video of this series we will build the drawers, build and paint the drawer fronts, and add some special surprise features that you won't
We tackle a one-stop-shop for all things drill related by building a cabinet which housings drills, chargers, bits, and drivers. The cabinet incorporates some novel magnetic drill blocks for organizing drill bits. We finish off the design by applying a coat of paint and including a drill & tap chart on the front for easy reference! Major Lessons Learned Study your shop habits and come up with solutions to make your life easier! This project now takes the guesswork out of "
We finish the ultimate shop table! This has been a long journey but it feels good to finish. This table serves as a great addition to a small shop because it is so versatile. In summary this shop table has integrated dust collection, integrated wiring including automatic dust collection control, part storage racks, tool storage drawers, and external storage for project paper & clamps. The entire table is also mounted on some heavy duty castors so it can be moved if needed
In this video we finish the majority of the ultimate shop table build by installing drawers and part organization racks on BOTH sides of the table. This added storage comes in very handy in a small shop. Having the part organizer bins easily accessible in the center of the shop means less movement to get what I need. I really like how this table turned out and all thats left is to put on the finishing touches! Major Lessons Learned Take the time to plan for storage. Use w
In this video we round out the integrated dust collection within the work table by running electrical, connecting the ducting, and mounting the doors. This automated system works GREAT and I highly recommend the iVac switch used in the build. With this half of the table complete we just need to finish out the other half! Major Lessons Learned Electrical work is not rocket science but you should respect it and do your research. I am not an expert and you should consult a pr
We tackle the first big project in my shop build but creating an ultimate shop table with integrated features to save space and increase efficiency. Stay tuned for the rest of the build as we put this thing together! Major Lessons Learned Prioritize functionality when laying out your shop. Don't fill it up with tools before you think of utilities like dust collection. Dust collection can be easily integrated into shop furniture to save on space Plan your projects ahead of t
Your shop air compressor is often overlooked and ignored but we go through some very simple "upgrades" that will make your air compressor safer and easier to use. First we build a stand which raises the compressor off the ground, making draining the water from the air tank an easy task. Then we put together a simple drain reservoir to catch any water which features some 3D printed parts. Finally we mount a retractable hose reel to make air hose tangles a thing of the past!
