You may have seen my previous post/video about upgrading the lighting in my (old) shop with the Barrina LED fixtures. I would still recommend those lights after 1+ years of use...but what if you want an even faster option that is comparable in light output?
This is exactly the situation I found myself in at my new house. My life (like most people's) is so hectic right now between the new job, moving, juggling a rental, an 11-month old baby, etc. I simply don't have the time to dedicate to big projects so I needed a quick solution to fix the TERRIBLE lighting situation in my garage. Since this garage will serve as my temporary shop I wanted to make sure there was abundant, high quality, lighting available.
My garage has (4) standard E26 lampholder fixtures on the ceiling with single incandescent bulbs in them. I wanted to see if there was an option to re-use those fixtures rather than replace with all new. I came across some funky multi-panel LED fixtures on Amazon and began my research. Once I weeded through the junk I came to 3 pretty solid options:
1.) (What I Used) LZHOME 82W Fixtures (2-pack) 9000 lumens per fixture
2.) (Runner-Up) ACI 80W Fixtures (2-pack) 8000 lumens per fixture
3.) (Stupid-Bright Alternative) ZJOJO 100W Fixtures (2-pack) 12,500 lumens per fixture
I ended up installing 3 additional fixtures for a total of 7 in my garage which is approximately 750 sq. ft. Once I installed these lights I was blown away - such a difference! In total the estimated output is 63,000 lumens versus the original estimated 2,400. Go check out the video below for the full process.
