Lets kick off this ultimate shop cabinet build with the upper cabinets. In this video we put together some simple, yet strong, cabinet frames. This video represents the first in the series of many building out a complete set of custom upper and lower cabinets. Be sure to stay tuned to this build as we finish out this project!
Major Lessons Learned
There are a 1,000 ways to build cabinets and this is just one. This design does not require any special joinery so it is a relatively easy project.
I chose to use french cleats to hang my cabinets which turned out to be extremely convenient as I had to remove/replace the cabinets during the entire build.
Keep it simple. Repeating cabinet sizes makes door production easier and introduces less opportunities for errors.
